テーマが、対策したものと関係するものがまったく無かったので、ただひたすらぺちゃくちゃしゃべりました

■Bさん：直線距離で300キロ　小学4年生　パスポートもなく、日本だけで勉強（1年生の12月、5級からスタートし2年半）
会場は東京麹町学園女子中学高等学校で、9:15集合。
会場は女性だけで、しかも娘の控室はおそらく20歳未満の受験生のみが16人ほど集められていました。
小学生は娘だけだったと思います。

最初の挨拶と最後の挨拶などは無難に終えられたようです。
以下、スピーチとQ＆Aを可能な限り忠実に再現してみました。（間違いもそのまま再現しています）

（挨拶～日常会話）
E1 まず自己紹介をして下さい。

I live in ----　prefecture, and I am 9 years old, and I am in the 4th
grade of elementary school.
I am in the family of four, a mother, a father, and a younger sister.
My younger sister is 6 years old. My hobby is to draw pictures and
play with her, also I read some books.

E2 どんな本が好きですか。
I often read biography.

E1 例えば？

Topic 3　Agree or disagree: Technology is undermining the role of
teachers in the classroom

I disagree with the idea that technology is undermining the role of
teachers in the classroom. I will talk about this using the following
several reasons.

First of all, many teachers recently tell their students how to use
computers or the internet usefully. Because some young children
recently spend a lot of time playing online games, so teachers tell
them that this is a waste of time. So it may increase the role of
teachers in the future.

Secondly, teachers tell their students what information is right or
wrong, because young people recently become very vulnerable to the
internet information. For example, if there was a false information
online, then young people often believe these information. However, if
the teachers tell their students how to decide what information is
right or wrong, then student's skill is very useful in the future.

In conclusion, for these two reasons, I strongly disagree with the
idea that technology is undermining the role of teachers in the
classroom. On the contrary, I think that the development of technology
will increase the teacher's role at schools. Thank you.（1分52秒）

Yes. I believe that the development of technology will make the
classroom fun, because many students hate studying by reading books
because it is so difficult for some students to read. However, many
information online explain happenings of the world very easily. So I
think it is important for the government and the world to introduce
online studying.

E2 先進国と発展途上国ではテクノロジーに差があるので、将来発展途上国にテクノロジーが移転されるべきですか。
I do not think that the gap will increase, because today's society is
very globalized. So developed countries such as Japan, USA, and so on,
can give fees for developing countries such as African countries how
to create the computer network.

E1 生徒はインターネットの理解の仕方を教えられるべきだとおもいますか。
I think that teachers can tell their children how to decide which
information is right or wrong by for example, students should look and
research about various kinds of information by looking at or reading
different sites. Then, students will be able to be learn what
information is right or wrong.

E2 テクノロジーの進歩によって生徒は学校に行かなくてもよくなると思うが、それはよい考えだと思いますか。
I agree with the idea because many people recently think that online
studying is very efficient because students can learn by their own
pace. Also, if the students cannot understand the lesson, then they
can listen many times.

E1 オンラインゲームは、子どもたちが楽しく勉強できるための有用な方法になると思いますか。
Many online games recently tell students about such as Chinese
characters, arithmetic, science, and so on. So it is very useful for
children to learn with enjoyment.

E1 では、あなたの経験で、あなたの担任の先生はこのようなテクノロジーに対してどのような様子ですか。

My homeroom teacher use computers for students to learn about social
study. Actually, I learn about environmental destruction recently by
using the internet, so it was very useful.

全体的に、先生からの注意点をしっかり守って、沈黙なく、おおむね流暢に話せたということです。
また、面接を楽しめたと言っていました。

Do advantages of multicultural societies overweigh any disadvantages？

I believe advantages of multicultural societies do overweigh any disadvantages.I have some
reasons for my opinion.
Certainly, differences of cultures and languages can cause many problems.
For example, in a workplace, such differences can annoy both workers and empoyers.
　　　However, advantages do overweigh disadvantages.
First, we can learn a lot of things about the world by communicating with
people from other countries. By doing that, we can get a deeper understanding
about human nature.
Secondly, there are so many conflicts and war around the world. As a result, too many
violations of human rights continue to occur. To guarantee our basic human rights, communicating
with various people around the world is very effective.
Finally, there are too many political issues arond the world today. To solve these problems,
we make every effort side by side.
For these reasons, advantages of multicultural societies do overweigh any disadvantages.
Of course, cultural differences cause many problems,(時間切れだが、両試験官:Please wind up.) We
can overcome obstacles.

Examiner1:You said cultural and linguistic differences can cause problems in a workplace.
What problem happens, for example?
Me: For example, Japanese people tend to be very punctual. But some people from some countries
are not. So some Japanese employers are annoyed by that, I've heard.

Examier1: What kind of difficulty do workers from other countries face when they want to get a job
in Japan?
Me: Language barrier. For example, some people from other countries want to be a nurse in Japan.
To do that, they must learn Japanese. That is a very hard learning, I've heard.

Examiner2:What kinds of problems happen when Japanese go abroad?
Me: For example, an American host family allows a Japanese exchange student to open their
refrigerator, and an Japanese exchange student feel...hesitated...hesitate. Japanese people are
not used to such a habbit.

Examiner2:What do you think is important for us to understand each other well?
Me: The most impotant thing is to understand other countries' habbits, I feel.

Examiner1:Today, the globalization of the world has advanced more and more. Do you think linguistic
diversity will be lost in the future?
Me:I think so. I must admit common language is advantageous for job hunting...to get a job. More
people will chose learning common language.

Examer2:Which do you think is better for people, using only one common language, or using more than
one languages?
Me: In my opinion, using only one language such as English is convenient, but using two languages, we
can learn more things.


Examiner1:These days it is said that there are many languges being endangered. Do you think more
should be done to save these endangered languages?
Me: I don't think so. If they are really valuable, they will survive naturally.

Examiner2:Do you think minor lamguages are not valuable?

Me:No. There are many valuable knowledges in those languages. Legends and myths in them should be
handed down...We should hand down legends and myths.

Examiner2: What's the advantage of using non-native languages in communicating internationally?
Me:By using non-native languages, we can learn many different thoughts.(時間終了)

■Dさん：　受講者ではありませんが、投稿してくださいました
一次試験は、リスニングの出来が悪かったので、微妙だと思って合格発表まではいまいち力が入りませんでした（結果はR:726(36), L:678(20), W: 764(30), Total: 2168, G1+6でクリア）。結局形式も対策もよくわからなかったので、本屋で対策本を買って、どのくらいの長さで、どういった構成をすればよいかを調べました。私は人の意見を聞くと絶対反論したくなるので、対策本の解答の暗記はしませんでした。具体的にやった事前の対策としては、作文＋独り言で、

（1）過去の問題に対して160-180語くらいで作文する（30題くらい）。インターネットで情報や表現を調べた。
（2）作文したものを、何も見ないで話す（別に一字一句あっている必要は無い。時間は何分かかってもよく、言いよどんだところは言い直す）。何度も繰り返しました。
（3）作文して、何度かしゃべる訓練をしたものを、事前に要点を日本語でしゃべってから、2分でしゃべる。
（4）上記の訓練をしたものを、30秒で内容を整理して、2分でしゃべる。
（5）準備したことのないネタを、何秒かかってもいいからちゃんと話す（上記がスピーチ基礎力育成訓練）。
（6）準備したことのないネタを、1分で準備して2分ではなす。（10個くらいやってみました。事故を起こさないための訓練。多少論点がそれてもよいから、とにかく話し続ける。訓練では2，3回事故もあった…）
の手順で準備しました。

当日（多分日本人のおじさん（面接官1）と、多分外国人のおじさん（面接官2））
雑談の後、カードをめくる。過去問をみるとリサイクルもあったので、それを期待していたが、甘かった。準備したのが無くてきつい。目移りするが、30秒くらいでなんとか一つ決めて、急いで立場と根拠を決める。やや見切り発車ぎみだけど仕方ない。お題は「政府は効果的にインターネット上の情報をコントロールできるか？」

Recently, there is a controversy whether the government can effectively control the Information on the Internet or not. Personally, my answer to this question is no, and I will show this by examples.

The first example is discrimination against minorities. On the internet, there are dozens of derogatory terms against minorities, such as ethnic Koreans in Japan or descendants of outcasts. Obviously, these unreasonable discrimination should be prohibited. But because the number of such postings is huge, I think it impossible to eradicate this.

The second example is violation of privacy. Recently, there are many cases in which privacy is violated. For example, some ex-boyfriends reveal pornography of his former girl friends on the Internet. I think that this is a flagrant violation of human rights. These should be strictly restricted. But in reality, this kind of cases is rampant on the Internet（時間切れ）

In conclusion, I have to say that it is impossible to regulate the information effectively.

面接官1．あなたは無理だと言ったが、ではどういう情報をコントロールする方法が考えられるか？
One method is to increase the number of people who monitor the Internet. Another good method is to hire many specialists. There are lots of university graduates who major in Information Theory. If the government hire these people, then efficiency will be improved.

面接官2．あなたは差別やプライバシー侵害を禁止すべきと言ったが、他の例は？
Another example is sexual contents. On the Internet, there is much pornography, and today, almost everybody can access to these contents. I think that for wholesome mental development of children, this should be restricted.

面接官2．子供だけ？大人は？
Oh, sorry, pornography is illegal for everybody. But on the Internet, there are some legalized sexual contents. I think that even if they are legalized, they should not be accessed by children.

面接官2．あなたは、政府が情報を統制することをどう思うか？常にするべき？たとえば中国の情報統制などは？
That shouldn't be allowed. Everyone has the right to know the truth. But the Chinese government restrict the information about its persecution to Tibetan people or East Turkish people. And I think that this kind of flagrant violation of human rights shouldn't be allowed.

面接官2．では、統制すべき情報とそうでない情報はどうやって区別するのがよいか？
One way to determine this criteria is that all citizens are engaged in democratic politics, and argue about this topic. And then, decide what should be regulated and what shouldn't be regulated.

面接官2．あなたの立場をよりclarifyするために聞きますが、日本政府は民主的で中国政府はそうでは無い？
At this point, yes, but..時間切れ。

面接官2．会話をこれ以上できなくて残念。おしまいです。Have a nice day.

（感想）short speech: ある程度ちゃんと質問に答えた，well-organized speech ができたとは思うんですが、時間切れになったのが悔やまれます。時間切れ後は採点されないとちょっと微妙です。あまり詰まったりはしなかったと思いますが，文字に直してみると語数がかなり少ないので、そんなにfluentではなかったんでしょう。

interaction: 反応は良かった（ような気がします）。結構うなずいたり笑ったりしてくれました。ただ、単にfriendlyな面接官なだけの可能性もあるので、わかりません。あと、ちょっと興奮して早口になったせいか、質問が5個出ました。
全体としてみると、特別素晴らしくはないが全然だめでもない。受かるか落ちるかは、面接官の性格と前後の人の出来具合でしょう（気がかりなのは、一人前が高校生の女の子なこと。試験前の余裕をみると帰国子女でしょうし（試験直前に古文の勉強をしていた）、fluencyや正確な文法運用では勝負にならない）。

■Eさん
昨日、二次試験を受けてきましたので、受験生の参考なればと思います。

【場所・時間】　AICJ中学・高等学校　9時15分集合、1時間前に現地到着。
1番最初に行き、面接も最初でした。

【面接官】　ネイティブ男性（おそらく発音からイギリス人）＋日本人男性

【選択テーマ】　Agree or disagree: Technology is undermining the role of the teachers in the classroom

（スピーチ）disagreeで　Technologyの教育の効果や経済的成長につながるということを自分の経験を踏まえながらのべました。時間はちょうど2分ぐらいでした。

理由1:科学技術は学習の機会を与え、creativityを促進させる。自分の学校でやっているスダディ・サプリを例にとり、生徒の苦手分野の学習をさせたり、生徒に課題をだしたりできるので、教師の指導に役立つという趣旨を言いました。

理由2:　コンピューター技術を学ぶことは生徒の将来の仕事に役立ち、それは経済成長につながるという趣旨を言ったと思います。

（質疑）
・creativityを促進させるということは具体的にどういうことですか。（イギリス人男性から）
→まず、創造性を伸ばすのに必要な基本的知識を習得できる。エッセイの課題でインターネット情報を検索できる。そこから解決策を探るのに役立つ。

・スダディ・サプリは授業の中でそれとも授業外でやっていますか。（日本人男性）
　　→　両方でやっている。授業では月1回程度。課題でよく宿題をだし、その学習状況を教師側は確認できる。

・生徒はスダディ・サプリを勉強する環境は整っていますか。（日本人男性）
　勤務している学校が田舎なので、スダディ・サプリを使えない生徒がいる。その生徒は学校で勉強するように言っている。

・経済成長とは具体的にどういうことですか。（イギリス人男性）
　インターネットを使うことにより、それを仕事に生徒は活かせる。会社は製品を自国の国だけでなく、他の国でも売ることができる。

感想・・・なかなか瞬時にその内容を適切につたえるのは難しく、スピーチでは十分にできなかったと思いますが、そのあいまいな点は質問で聞かれました。質問に対してはそれなりに答えることができたと思います。面接委員は納得した様子でした。
