英検2級・大学入試《英単語フロージョン》⑦

本記事は独学・国内学習による
英検1級保持者が書きました。


英検協会によると、各級の必要語彙数とレベルは
次のとおりです。

・準2級:約2,600~3,600語(高校中級程度)
・2級 :約3,800~5,100語(高卒程度)
・準1級:約7,500~9,000語(大学中級程度)
・1級 :約10,000~15,000語(大卒程度)

問1の語彙問題では上記のレベルを超える単語
も出題されますが、頻度は下がります。

文部科学省が公表している学習指導要領によると、
高校卒業程度の英単語レベルは5000語程度です。
共通テストも5000語レベルで出題されています。
よって、必要語彙数に関しては次の事が言えます。

★《英検2級》=《高校英語》= 約5000語レベル 

東大・早慶・医学部等の難関大学入試の語彙は
準1級レベルを超えるので、英検2級レベルを
高2段階で超えていることが条件になります。

語彙力測定のサイト等を利用して、定期的に自分の
語彙数を確認しておくとよいでしょう。

ただし、上記の語彙数値には注意が必要です。
アウトプットで使える語彙が知っている語彙数
を超えることは無いと言われています。

語彙には次の2種類があります。

●《active vocabulary》: 能動語彙
 「産出語彙」「表現語彙」などとも言い、
 本人が使うことのできる語彙、
 つまりアウトプット可能な語彙。
 インプット=リーディング&リスニング。
 アウトプット=スピーキング&ライティング
 です。

●《passive vocabulary》: 受動語彙
 「理解語彙」のことで理解はできるけど
 アウトプットはできない語彙。

ライティングを意識した語彙学習の方が
それを無視した場合よりも記憶の定着が
高まるという実験結果もあります。
よって、単語に関してはその使い方も
意識すべきでしょう。
