日本は潮流に対して周回遅れです。
EVに政府の補助金(=血税）を注ぎ込んでいる
ため、世界の趨勢が見えにくいのですが、
電気自動車に対する夢物語を語るのは
見識不足とみられるため無難とは言えません。

スズキ自動車の話をしましょう。

インドには3億頭の牛がいるとされます。
これは世界トップクラスの規模。
これに対し日本は乳用牛と肉用牛の合計で約400万頭。
10頭の牛から回収できる1日分の排せつ物でクルマ1台が
1日に走る燃料を製造できるとし、
「インドに合わせたカーボンニュートラルを目指すソリューション」
になると期待を寄せる。
バイオ燃料を作った残りの排泄物は、
肥料として農家で活用可能なため、
完全な持続可能サイクルが実現化しようとしています。

Suzuki Motor Corp. Announces Major Investment in India: A New Plant, Fourth EV Line, and Biogas Plants

Suzuki Motor Corp. announces an investment of 35,000 crore in Gujarat, India, for a new automotive plant and a fourth EV production line. The company also plans to establish biogas plants and export India-made Jawa motorcycles.

Japan-based automotive giant, Suzuki Motor Corp., has announced a significant investment of approximately 35,000 crore (about $4.6 billion) in Gujarat, India, during the launch of the 10th Vibrant Gujarat event. The announcement arrived with the presence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and outlined the plans of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. to construct a new automobile plant in Gujarat, with an investment of 32,000 crore.

Major Investment and Expansion

The newly proposed facility is slated to boast an annual production capacity of 1 million vehicles, and is anticipated to commence operations in the fiscal year 2028-29. In a move to expand its footprint in the electric vehicles market, Maruti Suzuki will invest an additional 3,200 crore in a subsidiary, Suzuki Motor Gujarat Pvt. Ltd, to establish a fourth production line exclusively for electric vehicles. This expansion will bolster the company's production capacity by 250,000 units annually.

Export Plans and Sustainabilit

In a statement by Toshihiro Suzuki, president of Suzuki Motor, the company expressed plans to export new models of Jawa motorcycles, manufactured in India, to Japan and European markets. The company also has ambitious plans to amplify India's role as a manufacturing hub, eyeing a production capacity of 4 million vehicles by the fiscal year 2030-31.

Aligning with global sustainability efforts, Suzuki Motor also announced plans to establish biogas plants in Gujarat to produce alternative fuels such as compressed natural gas, bio-ethanol, and green hydrogen. This initiative will be undertaken in collaboration with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), utilizing cow dung to produce biogas. With four plants already under construction, the company's commitment to environmental sustainability is clear.

A Correction in Investment Fig

A correction was announced during the event, clarifying that the total investment for the new plant is 32,000 crore, and not 67,000 crore as previously reported. This announcement reflects the company's continued commitment to growth and expansion in India, while also reinforcing its dedication to sustainable practices and innovative technology.
