英検1級道場-2021-3英検1級1次試験英作文の研究－英検解答例を詳細に分析しました

2022/01/23（日）に2021年度第3回の英検が行われました。
英検1級道場で学ぶ（学んだ）多くの受講者が挑戦しています。

3級、準2級、2級、準1級、1級。
小学1年生から71歳のシニアまで。

■すでに単語問題の分析などは紹介しましたが（パス単を使うことの有効性　https://mbp-japan.com/chiba/eiken/column/5103562/）今回は、英検1級に出題された英作文問題を研究します。

英作文は、得点に対するCSE（偏差値）への跳ね返り率が高いため、合否を左右する要素になっています。
RとLが合格点にはるかに及ばないのに、なぜか英作文だけが26/32点満点，28/32点満点であったために、まさかの1次試験合格を果たした例がいくつもあります。

逆もしかり、RとLで50-56点を取りながら、英作文でまさかの18点や20点をもらって、1次不合格の例もたくさん見てきました。
得点70/100点満点の人が合格で、78/100点満点の人が不合格などの例が所々に見られます。

TOPIC：　Should investment in technology be a bigger priority for governments?

下記は英検が速報の中で紹介した「解答例」です。
これについてコメントしていきます。

●Write an essay on the given TOPIC.　→出した課題に対して答えになっているかという点を見られるのですが、完璧です

●Give THREE reasons to support your answer.　→第2、3、4段落で一つずつ述べています

●Structure: introduction, main body, and conclusion　→introduction：第1段落, main body：第2、3、4段落, and conclusion第5段落という構成であり、完璧

●Suggested length: 200-240 words　→240ワードですが、採点者は単語数を実際は数えているとは思えません、解答用紙の25-30行に納まっていればOKと判定しているはずです

■イントロダクション 　☚次に来る論旨を紹介するのでイントロダクションなのです。
Governments should prioritize investment in technology, as the benefits of doing so can curb the emerging problems associated with climate change, the worsening health epidemic, and global labor shortages. 　29ワード

イントロで、テクノロジーへの投資を優先することで、現在発生している①気候変動、②悪化している世界的健康問題、③世界的な労働力不足の問題を小さくすることができる、と述べ、メインボディ①②③へのintroductionになっています。

■メインボディ①
As the fallout from global warming continues to threaten the survival of humankind, technology is proving to be an invaluable tool. While such technologies offer undeniable benefits, their development requires steady financial backing, which governments have a moral responsibility to provide. 　63ワード

・地球温暖化（→気候変動）により人類の存立が脅かされているが、化石燃料に代わるエネルギーの開発などではテクノロジーが大きな役割を果たしている。この利益を享受するには政府による財政援助が求められる。

■メインボディ②
The rise of modern health issues is another problem that can benefit from government-level investment. Although rates of obesity and coronary diseases continue to escalate, breakthroughs in surgical procedures and innovations in preventative medicine provide hope. Yet without monetary support from governments, securing budgets for the rigorous research and testing required for mass production and adoption of these technologies will be a struggle. 　63ワード

Additionally, labor shortages are necessitating research into technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation. Rising labor demands in the construction industry, for example, can be answered with on-site robots that not only automate menial tasks but also improve workflow efficiency. The broad implementation of such technologies, however, requires state-level subsidies and grants to offset high up-front costs. 57ワード

・労働力不足解消のためにはAIや自動化のためのテクノロジーを研究しなければならない。このためには国家レベルの財政支援が欠かせない。

■結論
Considering the potential of technology to mitigate the effects of modern-day environmental, medical, and labor problems, boosting investment in technologies related to such issues is imperative for governments. ワード
