英検1級道場－戦い済んで、日が暮れて 私も受験してきました（38回目）
10月4日に2026-2英検1級の試験があります。
受験者で一番興味がある（心配事）のが英作文のトピックです。
そこで、手元にある2004-1～2026-1に出題されたトピック77問を分析し、出題されそうなトピックを予想してみました。
2004-1～2026-1を通して見ると、英検1級の英作文は、まったく新しいテーマを突然出すというより、過去の大テーマを時代に合わせて少し変形して再出題する傾向が見えます。
例えば、水に関する問題は2012-1の「将来の水需要」から2026-1の「安全な水への無料アクセスは基本的人権か」へ変化しています。
また、自由貿易も2014-1から2024-2へ、約10年後に形を変えて戻っています。
その「焼き直し」を重視し、さらに直近数回の過去問とテーマが重なりすぎないこと、長期間再登場していないこと、英検1級らしく賛否双方の論点を3つ作りやすいことを基準に、2026-2（10月4日）の対策候補を考えてみました。
まず「過去に実際に何が出たか」を7つのジャンルのくくりで整理し、その上で、焼き直して出題される可能性を探りました。
1．AI・テクノロジー
2007-1 —Has modern society become too dependent on technology?
2015-1 — Should cloning research be promoted, or should it be discontinued?
2021-3 —Should investment in technology be a bigger priority for governments?
2022-1 —Agree or disagree: Genetic engineering will have a positive influence on society in the future.
2023-3 — Should science be relied on to solve humankind’s problems?
■AIそのものは、このリストではまだ直接出題されていません。したがって、「technology/science」という古典的テーマをAIに置き換えて出すという予想が可能です。
2．少子化・高齢化
2008-3 —Will societies with aging populations face a crisis in the future?
2012-3 —Does more need to be done to address Japan's low birthrate?
2020-2 —Agree or disagree: Global overpopulation is a serious threat to the future of humankind.
■2012-3の少子化問題は特に注目です。
14年経過しているので、Japan を外してShould governments do more to address declining birthrates? のように焼き直して出してくることが予想できます。
3．移民
2008-3 —Will societies with aging populations face a crisis in the future?
2017-2 —Should developed nations encourage immigration from other countries?
2023-2 —Do social welfare programs help reduce inequality in society?
■中心となる過去問は2017-2。
約9年後の2026-2なら、移民を「労働力不足」「高齢化」「経済成長」などと組み合わせて再出題する形が考えられます。
4．原子力・エネルギー
2008-1 —Agree or disagree: The use of nuclear power should be expanded.
2015-3 — Will fossil fuels such as oil and gas still be the world’s main source of energy in the coming decades?
2019-3 —Can renewable energy sources replace fossil fuels?*
2024-1 —Will governments be able to keep up with increasing energy demands in the future?
■2008 原子力 → 2015 化石燃料 → 2019 再生可能エネルギー → 2024 エネルギー需要となっています。
5．食料問題
2007-2 —Should more be done to eliminate world hunger?
2009-1 —Do the benefits of Genetically Modified crops outweigh the dangers?
2014-2 —Can the global food supply be ensured in the coming decades?
2015-1 —Should cloning research be promoted, or should it be discontinued?
2022-1 —Genetic engineering will have a positive influence on society in the future.
2023-3 —Should science be relied on to solve humankind’s problems?
■2014-2の「世界の食料供給」そのものは12年間出ていません。
これは焼き直し候補としてかなり有力と考えられます。
6．SNS規制・言論の自由・インターネット
2005-2 —Should there be more government control of the Internet?
2017-1 —Can restrictions on freedom of speech ever be justified?
2021-2 —Can individual privacy be protected in the modern world?
2024-3 —Is freedom of the news media beneficial to society?
■特に2005-2が重要です。
20年以上前の Internet を現在の social media に置き換えるだけで、現代版に焼き直し可能になります。
7．大学教育・学歴
2004-1 —Factors to consider when choosing a career
2011-1 —Agree or disagree: A college education is necessary for everyone.
2018-2 —Has a university degree in Humanities lost its relevance in today’s world?
■2011-1 → 2018-2 → 2026-2 という形で、約7～8年間隔の再登場は十分考えられます。
こうして並べると「古い過去問を現代風に言い換えるだけで新しい問題になる」姿が見えてきます。
また、トピック内の単語も下記のような焼き直しが考えられます。
2005-2 Internet regulation → Social-media regulation
2007-1 Technology dependence → AI dependence
2008-1 Nuclear power → Nuclear power and energy security
2011-1 College education → University education and employment
2012-3 Low birthrate → Declining population
2014-2 Global food supply → Food security
2017-2 Immigration → Immigration and labor shortages
このように、やみくもに手探りで準備するのではなく、事実データを使って科学的に傾向を分析することで対策すべき方向が見えてきます。
