実際の例を下記に紹介します
効果抜群! やってみてください
注:論旨と英文については、改善の余地が多数あると認識しています
2012-1Can the global demand for water be met in the future?
The global population is projected to reach nearly 10 billion by 2050, intensifying concerns about water scarcity. However, with strategic interventions, it is possible to meet future water demands.
Firstly, water conservation is paramount. Governments and organizations can promote the use of water-efficient appliances and fixtures, such as those labeled by WaterSense, which can reduce household water use by at least 20% without compromising performance . Public awareness campaigns and incentives can further encourage individuals and industries to adopt water-saving practices.
Secondly, enhancing water storage infrastructure is crucial. Constructing and maintaining dams, reservoirs, and rainwater harvesting systems can help capture and store water during periods of abundance for use during shortages. For instance, initiatives like the construction of check-dams and ponds have proven effective in improving groundwater recharge rates .
Lastly, advancing desalination technologies offers a promising solution. Innovations have significantly reduced the cost of desalinating seawater, making it a more viable option for augmenting freshwater supplies . Moreover, integrating renewable energy sources into desalination processes can mitigate environmental impacts and enhance sustainability.
In conclusion, while the challenge of meeting global water demand is significant, a combination of conservation efforts, improved infrastructure, and technological advancements in desalination can collectively address future water needs.203
2016-3Should the death penalty be banned in Japan?
The death penalty has long been a subject of debate in Japan. While public opinion largely supports its retention, I argue that Japan should abolish capital punishment for several compelling reasons.
Firstly, the risk of wrongful executions cannot be overlooked. The case of Iwao Hakamada, who spent over 45 years on death row before being acquitted in 2024 due to fabricated evidence and a coerced confession, highlights the fallibility of the justice system. Such irreversible errors underscore the dangers of maintaining the death penalty .
Secondly, Japan's continued use of capital punishment places it among a minority of developed nations. Over 70% of countries worldwide have abolished the death penalty in law or practice, including all European Union members. Japan's stance attracts international criticism and may tarnish its global reputation .
Furthermore, life imprisonment without parole offers a humane alternative that allows for the possibility of rehabilitation. Even individuals convicted of heinous crimes can reflect on their actions and contribute positively within the prison system. This approach aligns with the belief in the potential for human reform.
In conclusion, abolishing the death penalty in Japan would eliminate the risk of executing innocent individuals, align the country with international human rights standards, and uphold the value of human life. It is a necessary step toward a more just and compassionate society.220
