America！ America！アメリカ独立250周年を英語でカバー！

改めて考える、「アメリカってどんな国？」

今年、アメリカは独立250周年という大きな節目を迎えました。

アメリカは、私たち日本人にとって決して遠い国ではありません。

英語、映画、音楽、スポーツ、ファッション、IT、AI、経済、政治、安全保障…。私たちの日常生活のあらゆる場面に、アメリカの文化や価値観は深く影響しています。

しかし、それほど身近な存在でありながら、「アメリカとはどんな国なのか」を改めて考える機会は意外と少ないのではないでしょうか。

そこで今週のGlobal Kids英語会では、アメリカ独立250周年をテーマに、「America, America」というアイスブレイクから授業をスタートします。

アメリカを学ぶことは、アメリカを知ることだけではありません。

自由とは何か。
民主主義とは何か。
多様性とは何か。
リーダーシップとは何か。

そして、日本にはどのような強みがあり、これから何を大切にしていくべきなのか。

世界最大の影響力を持つ国を客観的に見つめることで、今度は日本を客観視することができます。

「世界を知ることで、日本が見えてくる。」

アメリカ独立250周年は、そのことを子どもたちと一緒に考える絶好の機会だと感じています。
