これは使える！丁寧に反論するフレーズ
新学期、初レッスンのディベイトお題は、共学か、それとも女子校か男子校か？
それぞれのメリット、ディメリットは？
共学の学校を、英語でco-educational schoolと言います。
そして、女子と男子で別れる学校のことを、single gender schoolと言います。
皆さんにとってとても身近な話題ですね。
今回、ディベイトをする際に、①自身の意見を言い出す時、②賛成する時、③丁寧に相手の意見に反対する時の、便利なフレーズ下記に列挙しました。
特に③の丁寧に反論する、は日本人にとって大切です。日本って基本、空気読んで何ぼの国ですから、Noと言い難いですよね。しかし、グローバル社会では、自身の意に沿わないことは、明確に反論することがむしろ当たり前です。

Co-educational School – "Boys and girls study together"
○ Merits:
Improves communication skills between genders
Prepares for real life (workplace, university, etc.)
Reduces gender stereotypes
Encourages respect and understanding
Promotes balanced teamwork and diversity in ideas
× Demerits:
Distractions from the opposite gender
Peer pressure or trying to “impress” others
Unequal participation (e.g. boys speak more in class)
Romantic relationships may cause drama or tension
Single-Gender School – "Boys and girls study separately"
○Merits:
Fewer distractions, better focus on study
Safe space to express opinions freely
More confidence to try all subjects (e.g., girls in science, boys in art)
Tailored teaching styles for each gender
Stronger friendships with same-gender peers
× Demerits:
Less social practice with the opposite gender
Harder to adjust to mixed environments later
May increase stereotypes
Limited perspectives in group work/discussions
