Agree or disagree:
Genetic engineering will have a positive influence on society in the future
A growing concern in the world nowadays is that genetic engineering will have a positive influence on society in the future. I agree. I’d like to explain my opinion with three reasons in this essay.
First of all, in terms of medicine, genetic engineering has begun to contribute to eliminate chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.
For example, recombining genes from nature ones to others can save many people in the world.
Secondly, in light of food crisis, genetic engineering will save the world in the future. As you know, world population is said to surpass nine billion in near future, people will struggle to find foods in over populated areas. In the worst case, there is a possibility war may happen there. I do think that genetic engineering foods will save people from starvation then.
Finally, in regards of environment, genetic engineering can be a factor of creating environmentally friendly world. For instance, producing live stocks’ feeds that can’t emit gas substances by using genetic engineering technique will help reduce the effect of global warming.
I’d like to emphasize again, medicine, food crisis and environment are three reasons why I agree that genetic engineering will have a positive influence on society in the future.
