今回の内容は5番目に相当します
ですから、乱暴に言うと、今回のトピックは、例えば、「哲学科や文学部なんか出ても世の中の役に立たないのではないか？」 という問いかけだと判断できます

Today's technology-focused mainstream media often depict the humanities as a dying area of study with no relevance. However, humanities scholars are clearly necessary in the interest of international relations, preservation of the arts, and Internet-based content.
The humanities are integral to diplomacy. A huge concern today is tension between nations that could escalate into conflict. Humanities graduates are well-versed in language, history, and cultures, all of which underlie diplomatic relations.
They have also been educated to think critically, which is necessary for effective policymaking, negotiation, and analysis of countries' political situations and intentions.
Humanities scholars can therefore be catalysts for peace.
Secondly, the increasing importance of science and technology means there is often less focus on the arts. There is therefore a need not only for artistic creators but also for people who will preserve existing works. The world needs art-history scholars to research, restore, and maintain priceless artworks, and educators to teach literary analysis and appreciation of prose and poetry.
Finally, and perhaps ironically, the Internet has made the humanities more important than ever. There are now innumerable types of content, such as texts, articles, and blogs, available anywhere, anytime. While technology makes this possible, much of this material is humanities based. Degree holders in philosophy, religion, and related areas are necessary for creating meaningful online content.
The rise of technology has not made the humanities irrelevant. On the contrary,
humanities scholars will play increasingly important roles in society.
