中居・フジテレビ問題、世界はどう見る？英語で理解しよう！
「文化で世界をつなぐ力」
今週の授業では、3月21日に開催された、韓国の世界的グループ BTS の復帰コンサートを取り上げます。
兵役による活動休止を経てのカムバックは、単なる音楽ニュースではありません。世界中の若者が同時に熱狂し、オンライン配信を通じて国境を越えてつながる——まさに「現代の文化の力」を象徴する出来事です。
授業では、このニュースを英語で読解した後、次のようなテーマに発展させます。
K-pop / K-food / K-beauty / K-film
という4つのカテゴリーを提示し、生徒たち自身に「自分の好きな韓国文化」を英語で表現してもらいます。

シンプルな英文ですが、その背景には大きな意味があります。
文化が国境を越える時代
日本と韓国は、歴史的に複雑な背景を持つ隣国です。
しかし、現代の若い世代にとって、K-popや韓国映画は「身近で魅力的な存在」です。
政治や歴史が壁を作る一方で、
文化はその壁を軽やかに越えていく。
「BTSが好き」
「韓国料理が好き」
と誰かが英語で発信する時、世界語である英語が文化と文化をつないでいる瞬間でもあり得るでしょう。
ソフトパワーとしての文化
韓国はK-popをはじめとする文化を、世界に発信する力（ソフトパワー）として確立しました。
これは、日本のアニメや漫画にも共通する流れです。
これからの時代、グローバル社会における国の魅力とそのプレゼンスは、
「何を発信できるか」
に大きく左右されます。
英語教育のその先へ
英語は単なる言語ではなく、
「世界をどう理解するか」
「自分は何を好きと感じるか」
を表現するツールです。
BTSの復帰コンサートという一つのニュースから、
生徒たちは
・世界のつながり
・文化の力
・自分の価値観
を英語で考え、言葉にして欲しいと思います。
K-pop kings BTS stun Seoul in 2.0 comeback concert
