Tokyoites themselves are simply "people who cannot cure illnesses"?, brainwashed by Western chemical civilization

In 2015, I published a book titled *Doctors Who Cannot Cure Illnesses*. The premise of the book is that Western medical treatments are merely symptomatic; taking medication rarely cures most diseases, and patients are often plagued by side effects. In contrast, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) employs causal therapy—addressing the root cause—and frequently proves effective even for intractable diseases for which Western medicine offers no cure. It has been 10 years since I opened a clinic that integrates Western diagnostic methods with TCM treatments. Treatments using decoctions of Chinese herbal medicines have proven effective in the vast majority of cases involving progressive, intractable conditions—such as hereditary spinocerebellar degeneration, multiple sclerosis, malignant rheumatoid arthritis (Still's disease), intractable epilepsy, and glaucoma—that Western medicine cannot treat. Patients suffering from these difficult conditions have traveled from all over Japan—ranging from Hokkaido in the north to the Kansai, Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu regions in the south—to seek treatment at my clinic. However, I was recently surprised to realize that very few patients come from within Tokyo itself. Why is this? I suspect it is because Tokyo residents, having numerous university hospitals and specialized medical institutions nearby, are firmly convinced that the Western medicine practiced at these facilities is the *only* form of medicine. They seem so thoroughly brainwashed by Western chemical civilization—a kind of "monotheism of science"—that they cannot even conceive of the existence of alternative treatments. If told by a Western medical practitioner that "there is no cure," they likely simply accept it and give up. In reality, however—with the exception of surgical procedures and radiation therapy—modern pharmaceutical drugs (aside from antibiotics and the like) are incapable of curing most diseases; that is the actual state of medicine. Perhaps, much like the title of my book suggests, Tokyoites themselves are simply "people who cannot cure illnesses"?
