抗うつ剤 SSRIやSNRIによる攻撃性や他害行為について
Recently, a young woman who had contracted COVID-19 while abroad visited the clinic, suffering from abnormal fatigue that had persisted for three months.
She experienced severe fatigue and physical weakness; she lacked strength in her limbs and could barely walk. Long-term persistence of COVID-19 aftereffects has been reported internationally (e.g., *Nature Communications*, Vol. 13, Article No. 1812 [2022]). That study, conducted in France, monitored the progress of 968 individuals who continued to experience symptoms such as fatigue and muscle weakness for more than two months after the onset of COVID-19; it revealed that 89.4% of them suffered from persistent fatigue for over 12 months. Concerns have been raised regarding the long duration of these aftereffects and the fact that Western medicine has yet to identify a cause or establish a treatment method.
It was against this backdrop that I treated a young woman suffering from COVID-19 aftereffects using Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnostics and herbal prescriptions. By the first month of treatment, her fatigue and weakness had largely resolved, and by the second month, she had fully recovered. TCM involves accurately diagnosing the pathological state of the internal organs (*zang-fu*) and formulating a treatment prescription by combining specific herbal medicines based on that diagnosis. An accurate diagnosis enables the creation of an effective prescription. Because this woman's condition corresponded to a pathology well-known in TCM since ancient times, I was able to formulate an effective herbal regimen. TCM has established diagnostic and therapeutic methods for treating such muscle weakness and paralysis in the limbs; consequently, COVID-19 aftereffects can often be readily cured with appropriate herbal prescriptions.
