Prior Art Search for AI Technology

1. Consultation Details
Company A provided us with a video (Video C) summarizing "Technology B," which is currently under development, and consulted us regarding the potential to acquire intellectual property rights—specifically patent rights—for this technology.

2. Solution
Based on the consultation, we first viewed Video C to identify the characteristics and key technical aspects of Technology B. We then utilized the Patent Information Platform (J-PlatPat) to search for any prior art that was identical or similar to Technology B.

Specifically, we broke Technology B down into several technical points, created search queries combining keywords relevant to each point, and broadly retrieved and analyzed relevant patent documents. The J-PlatPat search revealed no prior art documents that were particularly similar to Technology B.

However, recognizing the need to also check for publicly known technologies outside of patent literature, we conducted an additional search covering web-based services and applications. This search identified existing applications with functions similar to those of Technology B.

After comprehensively evaluating these findings, we concluded that Technology B might lack novelty due to the existence of these similar applications.
