We conducted a trademark search and found that, although an identical trademark had been registered in the past, the trademark right had expired without renewal; thus, the right had already lapsed. Trademark rights remain valid for 10 years from registration and can be renewed every 10 years; however, since this specific right had not been renewed, we determined it would not pose an obstacle to the new application.
