抗うつ剤 SSRIやSNRIによる攻撃性や他害行為について
Angelman syndrome is characterized by severe intellectual disability, epilepsy, and awkward movements, as well as a tendency to laugh easily at minor things. A three-year-old child with Angelman syndrome who suffered from frequent epileptic seizures visited the clinic; the child was cheerful and laughed often. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, laughter is associated with abnormalities of the heart. A herbal formula was prescribed that combined herbs effective for heart-related issues with those that calm the neuronal excitability triggering seizures. This herbal treatment eliminated the frequent seizures, and the child has remained seizure-free for over ten years since.
