We were consulted by Company A regarding a new trademark (Trademark B) they planned to use. They requested a search into the feasibility of registering the trademark and, should registration prove viable, the preparation of the necessary application documents.

2. Solution
Based on the consultation, we utilized the Patent Information Platform (J-PlatPat) to conduct trademark and phonetic similarity searches for the name associated with Trademark B (Name C). We also reviewed Company A’s business activities and investigated the relevant classes (Class X and Class Y).
The search results confirmed that there were no identical or confusingly similar prior registered trademarks for Name C in Class X or Class Y.
Subsequently, we conducted a detailed interview with Company A regarding their business operations, organized the designated goods for Class X and designated services for Class Y, and proceeded to draft and review the application documents for Trademark B.
