Intellectual Property Protection for Logos Including Copyrighted Works
1. Consultation Details
Company A consulted us regarding the protection of intellectual property rights for Logo D, which incorporates the copyrighted character B and the character's name C.
2. Solution
Based on the consultation, we proposed a design to improve the distinctiveness of Logo D by placing the Romanized version of name C at the bottom of Figure B, and then adding the Katakana version below that.
Furthermore, after designating the goods and services category as X, we selected appropriate goods and services based on Company A's business activities and considered the protection of the copyright of character B and the intellectual property rights of Logo D incorporating character C.
