1. Consultation Details
Company A consulted us regarding their consideration of filing trademark registration applications for product B under class X for names C, D, E, F, G, and H.
2. Solution
Based on the consultation details, we conducted a pronunciation search for names C, D, E, F, G, and H using the Japan Patent Office (J-PlatPat) patent information platform.
As a result, for names D, E, F, and H, prior registered trademarks with identical pronunciations were found in class X, therefore, the likelihood of registration for these names was determined to be low.
On the other hand, for names C and G, although prior registered trademarks with identical pronunciations exist, they were registered in classes different from class X, therefore, registration was deemed possible.
