The client had come up with a new idea for a daily necessities and consulted our firm about whether it was possible to obtain intellectual property rights, such as a patent, for the idea.

2. Solution
Our firm conducted an internet search and the Japan Patent Office's Patent Information Platform (J-PlatPat) to investigate prior art documents similar to the client's idea.
As a result, we confirmed that the idea in question had already been commercialized and sold on the market, and that patents, utility models, and designs had already been applied for or registered.
Based on these findings, we concluded that the client's idea lacked novelty and that obtaining intellectual property rights would be difficult.

3. Conclusion
