1. ご相談内容
既存特許の次を見据えた、改良技術の可能性を検討
株式会社A様は、既に自社の独自技術Bについて特許Dを取得されていました。しかし、技術Bには一部改善の余地があると考えられ、改良技術C（改良点：E）に関する先行技術調査のご依頼をいただきました。
「今ある技術を一歩先へ進めたい」――そんな想いにお応えする調査です。
2. 調査・分析レポート
改良技術Cには新規性あり、特許出願の可能性を確認！
まず、技術Bに関連する既存の引用文献を幅広く調査。改良点Eを含む先行技術は見つかりませんでした。
続いて、特許Bの公知日・発行日以降に限定し、技術C（＝技術B＋改良点E）に該当する先行特許を徹底調査。その結果、改良点Eに該当する技術は文献上に確認されず、技術Cには新規性があると判断されました。
これにより、技術Cは特許出願が可能であるという有望な結果が得られました。

Patent research on technology improvements
1. Consultation content
Considering the possibility of improved technology with an eye on the next step after existing patents
A Co., Ltd. had already obtained patent D for its own proprietary technology B. However, it was thought that there was room for improvement in some aspects of technology B, and they requested a prior art research on improved technology C (improvement point: E).
"We want to take our current technology one step further" -- this is the research that will answer that desire.
2. Research and analysis report
Improved technology C is novel, and we confirmed the possibility of patent application!
First, we conducted a wide range of existing cited documents related to technology B. No prior art including improvement point E was found.
Next, we conducted a thorough research of prior patents corresponding to technology C (= technology B + improvement point E) limited to those published after the date of public notice and publication of patent B. As a result, no technology corresponding to improvement point E was confirmed in the literature, and it was determined that technology C is novel.
This resulted in promising results that technology C can be applied for as a patent.
