In English, when to use look, see and watch can be confusing. Here is an easy way to understand the differences:
英語では、look、see、watchをいつ使用するかが分かりにくい事があります。違いを理解する簡単な方法は次のとおりです。

Look - When you try to see something.
　　　あなたが何かを見ようとするとき。

I looked at the text message.
I am looking at the recipe.
私はテキストメッセージを見ました。
私はレシピを見ています。

Watch - When you try to see something that is moving or changing.
　　　　動いているものや変化しているものを見ようとするとき。

I watch tv every night.
I watched the fireworks.
私は毎晩テレビを見ます。
私は花火を見ました。

See - When you see something but did not try to see it.
　　　見ようとたわけではないが、目に入ってきたとき。

I see a cherry blossom tree!
I saw a car accident yesterday.
桜が見えます！
昨日自動車事故を見ました。
